The Model 1849 Pocket was the most popular of the Colt percussion revolvers. This example was manufactured in 1862 and features the standard markings including matching serial numbers, brass cone and hammer notch sights, and a one-piece "piano" varnished grip. It comes in a hardwood case fitted to the gun and the following accessories: small period powder flask with eagle design, dual cavity Colt bullet mold, cap tin, and Colt package of "6 Combustible Envelope/CARTRIDGES".

Fine. 50% of the original blue finish remains on the barrel. The cylinder has traces of original blue and otherwise mixture of gray and brown patina. The lever and frame retain strong case colors. There is some light oxidation. The grip straps retain 90% of the original silver plating and display an honest aged patina. The grip is very fine with strong varnish retention, various scratches, some lower edge wear, and a few pressure marks. The accessories and case are fair with moderate storage wear including stains and a loose piece on the case interior.
