Manufactured in 1891and subsequently custom engraved and finished. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, the left side is marked "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER", and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line/three-date patent markings followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The rear face of the replacement cylinder is marked with the Rampant Colt. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "270". The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked "44". The barrel, top edge of the ejector housing, cylinder flats, frame and trigger guard bow are very nicely engraved with a floral scroll design with a punch dot background. The rear of each flute has a star burst and there is a fine zig-zag and dot design on the rear edge of the cylinder. It is fitted with the early "bulls-eye" ejector rod head. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all silver plated and fitted with a pair of pearl grips, with a relief carved steer head on the right panel.

Very good as custom embellished with 80% silver under gold finish remaining, most of which has darkened with age. The grips are a bit undersized and remain very good with a minor chip on the upper right panel, a small chip on the right heel and overall light handling marks. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
