Description:

1) Socket bayonet, 21 inches overall with a 17 inch triangular spike blade, full blue finish, and a blue steel sheath with "US" marked brass/leather cartridge belt hanger. 2) An 1885 pattern, U.S. marked revolver holster marked "LANZ, OWEN & CO./CHICAGO" with a black leather belt. 3) Small cartridge box marked "ROCK ISLAND/ARSENAL/EHS" and "F.O.S." on the back. 4) Cap box, black leather construction with felt lining, marked "ROCK ISLAND/ARSENAL" on the back and "C.S.W" AND "W.L.F" on the front. 5) Sword belt, brown leather with a rectangular "US" buckle and a brass and leather hanger.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with the leather showing cracking and scuffs appropriate to age and the brass showing a mixed aged patina with scattered verdigris. Over 95% of the high polish blue finish is present on the bayonet and sheath.
