Manufactured in 1953. Standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. Bolt is numbered to the gun. Hooded ramp front sight, adjustable folding leaf rear sight and receiver tapped for sight/scope mounting. Mounted on a checkered high comb pistol grip stock with sling swivel and checkered metal buttplate. Complete with the original factory box. The Winchester box has the correct yellow end label which is numbered to the gun.

Near new in the original box. The rifle retains 99% plus original finish with some slight wear on the bolt handle and overall light handling marks. The factory buff marks are visible on either side of the front sight ramp. The stock is also excellent with a few minor dings, light handling marks, and sharp checkering. The markings are also sharp. The action is excellent. The box is fine with some wear and tears with a clear, mostly intact end label. This is an exceptional Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in its original box.
