The finish is a high luster blue. The stock is fancy American walnut with a satin polyurethane finish, a Schnabel forend tip, a metal grip cap, one inch black Winchester decelerator recoil pad and inset sling swivels. The stock is style F "featherweight" pattern checkered. The rifle also features hand honed action, standard Model 70 smooth bolt handle, jeweled bolt body and extractor and a "new" one-piece machined steel bottom metal. The receiver has matching scroll engraving with two panels on each side with etched selective silver plating. The Winchester trademark is on the left side of the receiver with gold fill and the serial number is on the right side of the receiver ring also gold filled. There is a 24K gold overlay of a elk centered on the floor plate enhanced with a gold line border accented by a nickel background. Below that is "WSM" (Winchester Short Magnum) and caliber "300" inlaid and outlined in gold. Surrounding the gold inlay is scroll pattern outlining the floor plate and trigger guard accented by silver plating. The top of the barrel at the breech is marked with the Winchester proof stamp and a special Custom Shop proof stamp. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting.

Excellent with 99% original finish and only minimal light handling marks. The wood is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
