This standard grade Model 70 was manufactured in 1959 and has the standard post-war/pre-64 markings and features a hooded front sight with a silver bead and serrated ramp, Lyman 16B fold down rear sight, taps for scope and peep sight mounting, late safety, and a Monte Carlo stock with checkered forend and grip, no cheekpiece, sling swivels on the butt and forend, and a red Winchester recoil pad with black spacer. The .338 Winchester Magnum cartridge was only used in 1.64% of the total pre-64 production per the table on page 100 of "The Rifleman's Rifle."

Excellent. 97% of the original blue finish remains with only slight fading on the bolt handle and at the muzzle on the left and some handling/storage type marks. The stock is very fine with crisp checkering, some minor pressure marks, slight scratches, and some aging of the recoil pad. The action functions perfectly, and the markings are crisp.
