This model was introduced as a production line gun and moved to the custom shop in 1960, but it was in fact a hand-build custom-made shotgun from the beginning. This skeet grade was manufactured from 1936 to 1959 with this particular shotgun having been manufactured in circa 1941. Red bead front and metal mid bead sights on the matte solid barrel with 2 3/4 inch chambers and choked WS1/WS2 with ejectors. The left barrel at the breech is marked "WINCHESTER - 20 GAUGE" and the underside is marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" and "WS-2" (left) and "WS-1" (right). The water table and barrel flats are marked with the Winchester oval proofmark. The right side of the water table is marked with the U.S. patent numbers, and the three-line address and model marking is on the left side. The bottom receiver plate directly ahead of the trigger guard is marked "SKEET". The matching serial number is marked on the upper tang, on the left side barrel flat, and on the forearm hardware and wood. Single trigger with selector, tang mounted manual safety with gold "SAFE" and mounted with fancy checkered beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with a factory checkered wood butt. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Very fine. The barrels retain 95% original blue finish with some muzzle and breech end wear and a few minor scuffs and scrapes. The trigger guard has traces of original blue finish mixed with a smooth gray patina. The frame retains 80% original blue finish with some edge wear and flaking. 70% original blue finish remains on the break lever with finish loss due to flaking. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor scuffs and scratches and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
