Description:

The included factory letter states this pistol was shipped from Colt on October 5, 1927, to Wolf and Klar of Fort Worth, Texas, as part of a shipment of 50 firearms. Wolf and Klar was a well known pawn shop, jewelry store and gun retailer, perhaps best known for being the location where Kathryn Kelly purchased a Thompson submachine gun for her husband, the infamous though inept George "Machine Gun" Kelly. The factory letter confirms the nickel finish, barrel length, serial number and caliber. It also states the pistol was shipped with checkered wood grips, but it is currently fitted with smooth pearl grips, which were most likely installed by Wolf and Klar. Includes a partitioned walnut case with a purple cloth lining.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 98% plus polished original nickel finish remaining showing small scratches and dings throughout as well as general handling marks. The grips are very fine replacements with some light handling marks and very small gaps at the edges. Mechanically excellent. The custom case is very good with some fraying of the interior.
