This engraved Colt Series 70 Government Model features almost complete coverage of floral scroll engraving with matte background and feather patterns bordering the thumb safety, lower front edge of the slide, edge of the back strap, and the sides of the arched main spring housing. The only areas not engraved are the inside of the trigger guard and the grip safety. The slide and frame have gold inlaid wire bordering, some ending in a floral pattern. The pistol is absent of all Colt markings except for the address on the right side of the frame above the gold inlaid serial number. The slide also has raised gold inlaid animals: a mountain lion and grizzly bear's head on the right side, a big horn sheep and a mountain goat on the left side, a pronghorn antelope and mule deer on the top. The bottom of the frame ahead of the trigger guard has a raised gold inlaid moose head and there is a raised gold relief elk on the front strap. The floor plate on the magazine is engraved with a dot and diamond geometric pattern and is marked with the Rampant Colt on the toe, "COLT/45 AUTO" and "M". The beautiful engraving was performed by Master Engraver Ray Viramontez of Albany, Georgia. Viramontez is recognized as a Master Engraver by the Firearms Engravers Guild of America and one of the few members who is European trained, having apprenticed in Germany under Werner Schuck. The pistol is fitted with smooth two piece grips. Complete in a finely crafted custom hardwood case with locking brass hardware, red velvet lining in a cutout for the pistol, and padded red velvet on the inside of the lid.

Near new as master embellished with only the slightest handling marks. The grips are excellent showing an attractive patina pattern and only the slightest handling marks. The case is excellent.
