Description:

This is an example of a Dutch contract Luger that was produced by Mauser. These Dutch Lugers are rare as most were sent to the Dutch East Indies where they saw heavy, ultimately being captured by the Japanese at the beginning of WWII. It has a blank chamber area with the "DWM" markings on the front toggle. It has the standard "GELADEN" markings on both sides of the extractor with the "RUST" markings on the safety area. The left side of the barrel extension, the underside of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock are all stamped with the early double Crown/U, DWM/Oberndorf Mauser acceptance proof as used circa 1930/34. This pistol is fitted with a set of standard walnut grips and comes with a unmarked steel magazine body with a unmarked wooden base.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue on muzzle, straw) with 90% plus of the original blue finish on the balance with edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the muzzle area, the front frame rails with the grip straps having a faded blotchy appearance. The smaller parts 90% of their refurbished straw colors overall. The grips are in very fine condition with a nice dark brown color on both sides with nice sharp checkering overall with only a couple handling marks. Mechanically excellent. A very scarce example of a highly desirable Dutch contract luger.
