Description:

This is an example of a rare DWM Model 1900 Swiss Contract Luger with unrelieved frame. This is one of only 2,000 Model 1900 Swiss commercial Lugers manufactured with this specific pistol being a very early example with the very first "unrelieved type" frame with the early "wide checkered" safety lever and narrow trigger. These Lugers represent the very first commercial contract pistol sold by DWM and purchased by Switzerland. This Model 1900 Luger has all the early features such as: the dished toggles with toggle lock, a flat/recessed breech bolt, no stock lug, grip safety, early style larger flat safety lever with coarse checkering, early narrow trigger, flat main spring and fast taper 4 3/4 inch barrel. These pistols also have the "Swiss Cross" in a sunburst on top of the chamber area with toggle marked "DWM". The left side of the barrel extension has the "Crown B and U" with the underside of the barrel having the "Crown/B, U and G" proofs along with the bore diameter and serial number. This example still retains the original early "V" notch rear sight and standard inverted "v" front sight. The front of the frame and underside of the barrel have the full serial number (436) with the various small parts all are correctly numbered with the last two digits (36) of the serial number to include the back sides of each grip panel. It comes with Swiss type nickel plated magazine with the small circular discs on the sides of the wooden base. It does have a restored, modified to flat button magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 80% of the original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear overall with minor blue loss on the side plate hump, front frame rails and center of the grip straps. The smaller parts retain 40% of their original straw colors overall. The grips are in fine condition with nice visible checkering on both sides showing minor light handling marks with minor wear across the tops of the checkering overall. The magazine has modified to a "glat button" styled flattening the follower button and recheckering the lowered base. A really nice early Swiss contract Model 1900 "unrelieved" frame DWM Model 1900 Luger pistol
