Description:

This is an example of a copy of a Colt First Model Dragoon revolver that was manufactured in the 20th century. The revolver has the distinctive First Model oval cylinder stops and brass square back trigger guard. The top of the barrel flat is marked "ADDRESS SAMl COLT NEW-YORK CITY" reading from the breech to the muzzle. Matching serial numbers are marked on the barrel, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, back strap, loading lever, wedge, and cylinder pin. The left side of the frame has "COLTS/PATENT/U.S." and the cylinder has the Texas Ranger and Indian battle scene. The grip has faint traces of inspector cartouches, but the silver plated grip frame was standard on civilian revolvers.

Rating Definition:

Very good as professionally fabricated/custom finished. The barrel retains a thin blue finish while the cylinder is mostly an artificial gray patina. The loading lever, hammer, and frame retain significant subdued case colors. The grip frame has traces of silver plating and an overall artificially aged patina. The wedge fits loosely. The grip is very good as lightly sanded and refinished with only minor handling/storage marks. The action is fine. Most of the markings are crisp.
