Manufactured in 1914 as part of the first serial number block assigned to the Springfield Armory. Blade front and flat top rear sights with the three-line Colt patent block, "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY/U.S.A." and the flaming ordnance grenade proof on the left side of the slide and the Springfield American Eagle and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY." in sans-serif letters on the right. The grenade proof is repeated by the magazine catch with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left side of the dust cover. It is fitted with a long smooth trigger, knurled wide hammer, checkered slide stop and thumb safety, short grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple, a pair of checkered grips, a correct Springfield folded base magazine and a "BP 1" marked barrel with "S P" on the lug.

Very fine as professionally refurbished, showing 98% of the rust blue finish, with some mild applied edge wear and handling marks overall. The grips are sharply checkered, with a few light dings. Mechanically fine.
