Manufactured in late 1982. The end label of the included small Custom Shop box identifies this "belly gun" as a model "'P'-2' C. S. #170,162" with "S.A. Army-BP Frame," "Type 'A' Engraving," smooth grips, and states "(Prototype) 1 of 2". The next lot is "2 of 2" and is consecutively numbered to this gun. Interestingly, the grips of both 1 and 2 are numbered to gun two. The revolvers features leafy scroll and punch dot engraving, a stubby 2 inch barrel without a front sight marked with the two line address on top and ".45" marked on the bottom, the standard three line patent marking on the left side of the frame, and a pair of smooth grips with golden "Colt/150" Rampant Colt medallions. A manual is in the box. The included factory letter confirms these prototypes were shipped as a pair in an oak case on April 18, 1997. The Custom Shop order number was 170,162.

Near new in box with only light handling marks. The box is very fine with some mild storage wear.
