Description:

This pair of revolvers was manufactured in 1956 (first year of post-war production) and have the standard early Second Generation markings and features including flat "high" hammers. They both have the matching serial numbers on the bottom of the checkered grips and come with factory black boxes. The box for gun A is hand marked with the matching serial number and has a matching end label. The box for gun B has no end label or number and includes an April 1956 Colt price list. According to the survey data discussed in Don Wilkerson's "The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver, 1955-1975" 6,506 revolvers were manufactured and 116 consecutive sets were ordered in this configuration. The factory letter confirms the revolvers were sold as a consecutive pair to Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis and shipped on April 25, 1956.

Near new in box. There are only some light handling and storage marks, minor cylinder drag lines, and some mild flash marks. The box is very good with mild storage wear including some tears at the corners.
