Description:

This pre-WWII 1st issue revolver (serial number 331,000-490,000) was manufactured with standard Colt barrel markings, the Rampant Colt on the left side plate, and trigger guard stamped with "4" and Colt factory triangle proof. It is fitted with checkered Rampant Colt medallion grips. The included factory letter confirms the caliber, barrel length and finish with the type of stocks "not listed." The revolver was shipped to Madison county Sheriff H. Simon Henry of Edwardsville, Illinois as part of a two gun shipment on July 29, 1938.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus original blue finish showing slight muzzle wear and very minimal thinning on the back strap. The grips are very fine showing a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
