Manufactured in 1903. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the two-line address on top and "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side. Casehardened frame with three line patent dates, circled Rampant Colt, and "422" assembly number on the loading gate. Checkered bird's head grips with Rampant Colt imprints.

Fine, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing bright wear on the high edges, a mixed brown and gray patina on the grip straps, and mild handling marks. 30% plus of the case colors are present on the frame, which shows a number of dings on the right side as well as some distorted screw heads. An unidentified black residue, possibly some kind of protective lacquer or coating, is present on the metal. Grips are very good with some light rubbing. Mechanically fine.
