Manufactured in Liverpool, England, with a single steel bead sight on the smooth, solid, concave rib marked "W. RICHARDS. 27 OLD HALL ST. LIVERPOOL"; 2 9/16 inch chambers; modified/improved modified chokes; very tight, detailed, English scrollwork engraved side lock frame; and small game bird scenes on the lock plates. The hammers, fences, break lever, tangs, grip cap, and heel and toe caps are similarly engraved. It is mounted on a checkered walnut splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered naked butt. The barrel and buttstock have been fitted with sling swivel eyes. The length of pull is 14 inches.

Fair as refinished with small dings and dents along the length of the barrels, rib marking buffed light and finished over, and areas of light spotting. The casehardened frame has a mostly gray patina with small areas of brown, scattered small dings, cleaning marks, and some marring of the screw heads. The wood is fair as repaired with smoothed checkering, scattered small indentations, repaired toe and a replaced oval cutout on the butt. Mechanically very good.
