Manufactured in the late 1800s. It features a single steel bead sight on the matte concave solid rib with dolls head extension, "J.P. CLABROUGH & BROS. LONDON" marked on the right barrel, "FINE DAMASCUS" on the left, 3 inch chambers, improved cylinder/improved modified chokes, casehardened side lock action beautifully engraved with tight swirling scrollwork and small game bird scenes on each side plate, automatic tang safety, double triggers, a multi-point checkered splinter forearm with a Deeley latch and engraved hardware, round knob semi pistol grip stock with brass initial shield, a game scene embossed hard rubber buttplate, and a 14 1/8 inch length of pull. Includes a leather takedown case marked "C.L.C." on the lid with a blue interior and William read & Sons retailer sticker on the interior of the lid.

Fair with traces of original brown finish on the barrels, patches of preservative lacquer, scattered patches of rough spotting, strong Damascus patterns and shortened barrels. The frame shows faint traces of original case colors with a mottled gray/brown patina, traces of lacquer and a mostly brown patina on the trigger guard. The wood is about fair with scattered indentations and scratches, areas of smoothed and bruised checkering, missing forearm tip and dark waxy appearance. Mechanically very good. The case is good with areas of scuffs and scratches, tight stitching, general storage wear and some small age cracks in the straps.
