The consignor notes indicate this rifle was custom built by G.B. Crandall of Woodstock, Ontario, and refinished by Dennis Barrett of Kalkaska, Michigan. The action was originally manufactured by Winchester and was fitted with a new breech block, barrel, stock, and forearm and is equipped with an Unertl small game scope. The barrel is marked "17 HORNET" on the left side, and the lower tang is marked with the standard patent marking and serial number.

Fine as custom built, rebarreled to a modern caliber and refinished. 98% plus of the blue finish remains. The wood is near mint with crisp checkering. There are some slight handling marks overall. The action functions perfectly, and the scope is clear.
