Manufactured in 1885. This rifle has the Third Model integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated edges, and is equipped with special order deluxe checkered wood and a single set trigger. The top barrel flat is marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860" ahead of the rear sight and "32 CAL." at the breech. The bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL" in script letters. The serial number is stamped in script on the lower tang and the upper tang is marked "MODEL 1873". It features dovetailed blade front and adjustable rear buckhorn sporting sights. Blue barrel and magazine tube with casehardened remaining parts. Mounted with a deluxe multi-point checkered walnut forearm with steel end cap and pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very good as partially refinished (wood). The barrel and magazine tube have a dark patina with a small amount of very minor pitting on each. The remaining parts also have a smooth dark patina with some areas of smooth silver gray patina. The wood is also very good with a few minor handling marks and a couple of minor bruises in the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
