Description:

The rifle was manufactured in 1881 and has German silver blade front and adjustable sporting rear sights, the Second Model screwed on dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated tail, standard Winchester markings, a smooth walnut forearm, and straight wrist stock with a steel shotgun buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially refinished (forearm, barrel, left side plate on frame and magazine tube). 60% of the blue finish remains along with strong case colors in the protected areas and primarily a mottled silver-gray and brown patina on the balance with light pitting. The wood is fine. The buttstock has a more golden tone than the forearm and both have some ding marks and scrapes. The action is fine, and the markings are clear. A pair of non-factory filler screws and crude filing is present on the right side of the frame.
