Manufactured in 1905. "38-72 W.C.F." marked on top of the barrel at the breech and the two line address/patent dates on the left side of the receiver. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1895 / -WINCHESTER- / TRADE MARK" and the serial number appears on the lower tang behind the lever latch. The barrel is equipped with a dovetailed brass blade front sight and an adjustable rear sporting sight. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and crescent buttplate and mounted with a smooth walnut Schnabel forearm with ebony forend insert and straight grip stock. The accompanying factory letter verifies the rifle configuration, caliber, round barrel, plain trigger, that it was received in the warehouse on February 13, 1906 and shipped out of the warehouse on February 24, 1906.

Very fine. The rifle retains 75% plus original blue finish with some edge wear, thinning and finish loss on the barrel, and some scattered minor scratches and dings. There is some light spotting on the receiver. Much of the faded original case colors remain on the hammer and buttplate with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
