Manufactured in 1896. The top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two address and "38-55" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/PAT. AUG. 21, 1894" and the serial number is on the underside of the receiver. Dovetailed folding globe Lyman front sight and two folding leaf Lyman rear sight with white sighting triangle on one leaf. Full length magazine, blue finish, casehardened hammer, lever, buttplate and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with a steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 85% plus original with some muzzle and edge wear and some flaking present on the right rear side of receiver. Almost all of the original case colors remain on the hammer. The lever retains 60% bright original case colors with a smooth bright finish on the balance. The buttplate has a smooth gray patina with a generous amount of faded original case colors. 90% of the nitre blue remains on loading gate. The wood is also very fine with most of the original varnish remaining and some minor dents and dings. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent.
