Manufactured in 1890. This rifle features a German silver blade front and replacement folding ladder rear sights on the short barrel and a short "button" magazine tube. The top of the barrel ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two line address/King's improvement patent dates. "50 CAL" is on top at the breech and British proofmarks are on the left rear. The serial number is marked on the lower tang and the bottom of the cartridge elevator is marked "50-95". The dust cover has "WINCHESTER EXPRESS/50 CAL 95 GRS" and the upper tang has "{MODEL 1876}". It is mounted with a standard rifle forearm and straight wrist buttstock with steel shotgun buttplate. Given the British markings, this rifle likely spent time on big game hunts in Africa and India.

Fair. The rifle has traces of original blue finish and primarily a brown patina throughout along with patches of oxidation and some minor pitting. The sanded and reoiled wood is also fair with gouges and scratches. The action is fine and the markings are legible.
