Description:

Both swords are fitted with brass hilts, carved bone grips, curved single fuller blades with niter blue and gold highlighted American patriotic etching on the lower half, and brass scabbards. 1) A.W. Spies sword, 35 3/8 inches overall with a 31 inch blade, 5-pointed stars on the languets, twist pattern knuckle guard and a bird's head pommel. 2) Unmarked eagle head sword, 36 3/4 inches overall, with a 31 1/2 inch blade, smooth languets, straight knuckle guard, screaming eagle pommel, and a gilt finish on the scabbard.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, with some spotting of the steel, a chip absent from the grip near the pommel, and some dark spots on the brass. The throat screws are absent, with wire in their place. 2) Good, with the blade being lightly cleaned and showing patches of spotting and discoloration, a loose hilt with traces of antique silver, and some dents on the scabbard.
