Manufactured in 1900. The serial number correctly falls into the carbine serial number range (222609-362256). It features a brass blade front sight in a raised mount, elevation and windage adjustable folding ladder rear sight graduated 1-5 on the "C" marked base and to 23 on the ladder. Standard left side receiver markings, smooth straight wrist half stock with grasping grooves and separate handguard, single barrel band, and curve toed steel buttplate with a trapdoor compartment (cleaning rod absent). The left side of the stock is stamped with a sharp "JSA/1900" script cartouche and a circled script "P" is behind the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Good. Traces of the thinning original blue finish and "shadows" of the mostly silvered case colors remain. There are some minor marks scattered throughout and some light spotting. The wood is very good as re-oiled with various scratches and small dings and a few small chips. The action is excellent and the markings are crisp throughout.
