The lock plate has "crown/VR" at the tail and "B.S.A. Co./1872" ahead of the hammer. The breechblock is marked "III" and "B.S.A. Co." The right side of the butt has a round "W.D./BIRMINGHAM/1" stamp. There are also various British proofmarks throughout. It is equipped with blade and folding ladder sights and is mounted on a smooth walnut stock that extends to 5 1/2 inches from the muzzle. Sling swivels are on the front band and the tail of the trigger guard tang. A slotted cleaning rod is included.

Fine. The rifle displays a dark brown mixture of faded finish and patina. There are some spots of minor pitting and oxidation. The reoiled stock is very good with only minor marks and dings. The action functions very well. Most of the markings are clear.
