Both blades are installed in pale hardwood shirasaya mountings with polished bone accents at the mouths. Consignor notes attribute them as "kamikaze dirks". 1) Tanto, 13 1/4 inches overall with an 8 inch blade, showing a wavy hamon, a curved tapering of the back edge, a set of double fullers and a gold-finished copper habaki. The tang is signed on both sides, 4 symbols on the right and 5 on the left. A set of horn accent caps are fitted to the mountings, with carved bone bolsters on a lanyard hole on the grip. 2) Tanto, 9 3/4 inches overall with a 5 inch blade, wavy hamon, copper habaki, ebony wedge inserts in the ends of the fittings and 5 untranslated symbols carved in the right side of the grip.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, with some mild spotting and wear on the blade, separation of the seams on the mountings, and mild handling marks overall. 2) Good, with some polishing of the blade and mild handling marks overall.
