Produced in the Remington Custom Shop, a Premier Grade firearm starts with a full set of fresh components, that are then hand-fitted and assembled by a master gunsmith, subjected to engraving and embellishment representing up to two weeks of a skilled engraver's labor, and finished off with a set of top quality hardwood furniture. The barrel is fitted with a ramp bead front sight and a semi-buckhorn sporting rear sight, with the two-line address, patent and caliber markings on the upper left side and a 2 inch wedge of floral accented, punch-dot backed scroll engraving on top of the breech. More finely cut scroll engraving is present on the frame, including on the trigger guard and magazine base, with the model markings hand-engraved into the underside and a bust of a long-horned ram on top. Each side shows a sequence of three animals in gold on an engraved background; the left shows (left to right) a running antelope, a bugling elk and a mountain goat standing at a cliff face, and the right shows a running deer, a growling bear and a sitting wildcat. The bear scene on the left side has the single initial "R" beneath it, possibly indicating Remington Master Engraver Robert Runge. Fitted with an extra-fancy checkered walnut pistol grip stock with an extended forearm, hard rubber Remington grip cap, an unmarked initial panel on the underside and a serrated plastic Remington buttplate.

Excellent with 99% plus original blue finish showing a few light handling marks overall. The engraving is all sharply executed with a tiny amount of wear on the elk antlers and fine detail in the inlays overall. The stock is excellent with a few minor surface scuffs, sharp checkering and excellent grain. Mechanically excellent.
