The coin finished, scalloped box lock action with Greener style crossbolt has been heavily engraved with game bird scenes on the sides. Featuring a pair of woodcock in a forest scene on the right and a pair of pheasant on the left also in a forest scene. The game scenes are bordered with light scroll engraving. The left side is signed "GL" for Merkel Master Engraver Gerhard Liebscher. Scroll engraving is also present on the break lever, tangs, and trigger guard. Fitted with a tang mounted safety and double triggers. Mounted on a nicely figured multi-point checkered splinter forearm and straight grip stock with a serrated plastic Merkel buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. Includes a green Merkel box numbered to the gun.
