Description:

The Eulenburg Collection comes from the Hohenzollern Royal Family where they originated from the Eulenburg family estate of Liebenberg Castle in Brandenberg, Germany. The Liebenberg circle can be traced to some of Kaiser Wilhelm II’s closest military and cultural advisors and was named after the castle where they frequently met and hunted. This collection is a unique record of the role hunting in political affairs within German society. The grounds in which these hunts took place were situated on one of the Kaiser’s favorite hunting preserves. They are mounted full-cap European style, with "1892" in black ink on the skull along with an Imperial German Colonial helmet plate and mounted on an original Black forest carved wooden plaque with a Bavarian War Veterans Association ribbon mounted on the bottom. 1) 9-point red stag cap, approximately 24.25 inches high and 23.25 inches wide on a 20.25 x 12.5 inch plaque. 2) 10-point red stag cap, approximately 22 inches high and 19 inches wide on a 19 x 12 inch plaque. These trophies have survived traversing the Atlantic, two World War, and the ravages of time and have been curated over a period of 40 years through descendants of Kaiser Wilhelm II, private collectors, auctions and individuals in Europe.

Rating Definition:

Good. Both skulls show some cracks and scuffs due to age.
