Manufactured on contract for the government of Siam (Thailand) circa 1936 it is believed that only 350 pistols were made in the short barreled configuration, with a limited number of those making it to the American market. The heat and humidity in their region of use took a hard toll on the Siam Contract Lugers with most known examples being in rough state. Overall markings and features were typical for the Commercial Luger with the addition of a lion's head crest and a 3-digit Siamese property number (associated with the Siam Police) on the rear of the frame above the lanyard staple. Additionally, a small import mark (DIN, ALEX, VA) is present on the front of the frame below serial number.

Very good, with 80% of the original much faded blue finish, showing a few areas of brown patina, scattered spotting and mild handling marks. The magazine base has a matching number and an "eagle/63" on the underside with the body having been reblued. Mechanically excellent.
