Measuring 12 inches by 14 1/2 inches, the metal case for this lot is finished in a drab green with no external markings and a data tag on the inside of the lid identifying it as a H. Warschko Model "127-133 B-1" kit, serial number "4322" with a merchant marking of Franz Neuseisel of Berlin. Inside the kit is a dial-type wind speed calculator, 2 triangles, a pocket compass with dual needles and a small ruler for a cover, red and black pencils, a linear gauge and two erasers. The components each have a numbered position inside the case with an empty space for a ruler/straight edge and numbers 10 and 11 on the inventory list rubbed out and struck through. Next to the inventory list is a red stamp for "Blindflugschule 8/Nav.-Gruppe: Kartenstelle" (Instrument Flight School #8, established in occupied Belgrade in 1943). Included with the case is a green canvas pouch with leather handle and "Lieut. Schlegel" (a cursory investigation shows more than one Schlegel in the Luftwaffe's officer ranks) signed on the flap and a 1940 dated mercator projection Luftwaffe navigation map, 27 3/8 inches wide and 25 inches tall, showing the "Greater German Reich" in its entirety, with Luxembourg and the Netherlands on the left edge, Italy and Switzerland along the bottom and the U.S.S.R. and Hungary along the right.

Fine overall. One of the swing arms of the wind speed calculator is broken off but included, the linear gauge is faded and worn, and the rest of the included tools are good. The map has been folded and shows foxing and tears along the edges with the printing still clear and in good order. The pouch is good, but the handle may be a later addition.
