This is an example of a DWM Model 1906 Swiss Commercial contract Luger. These commercial Lugers were used by the Swiss Military with many thousand sold commercial sales and personal use in Switzerland. It has the standard features of the 1906 model with the grip safety, first pattern lower safety area, flat toggles with the new style receiver with the coil spring and short barrel extension. This example has been refitted with a longer 6 inch "slim taper" barrel, that has been numbered to match the pistol and is stamped with a single "Crown/N" proofmark on the underside. The chamber area is stamped with the "Swiss Cross in a sunburst" with the "DWM" logo on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and breechblock are both stamped with a "Crown/N" proofmark. The fast taper barrel is fitted with the standard blade front sight and notched rear sight on the toggle. The extractor is marked "GELADEN". It has a blued finish and straw colored small parts and is fitted with checkered walnut grips. It comes with one nickel plated magazine with a wooden base with the small discs on the sides.

Very fine as restored with 98% of the refinished blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The smaller parts retain 80% of their straw colors overall fading on the edge and high spots. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering overall with some light wear on the tops of the diamonds with a heavier pressure dent on the right side behind the magazine release. Mechanically excellent.
