Description:

This is an excellent example of an all original, WWII U.S. Army contract Stevens Model 520-30 trench shotgun. This is another example of one of the highly desirable and highly sought U.S. Military trench shotguns. These were used by both the U.S. Army and Marines during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. The left side of the barrel has the three-line address (partially obscured by the handguard) along with "P/Ordnance Bomb" at the breech, and the left side is marked: "PROOF TESTED-12 GAUGE/-2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER-". The barrel correctly gauges as a cylinder bore at the muzzle. The barrel has the correct WWII Stevens six-hole heat shield/bayonet lug which is correctly stamped with the capital letter "S" stamped on the left side of the lug. It has the correct purplish tint to the metal due to its alloy construction. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the "P" firing proof over the Ordnance Corp Shell and Flame proof followed by "MOD. 520-30". The top of the barrel and front edge of the receiver also has the same small single "P" proof. It is fitted with a smooth walnut pump handle and buttstock with a black plastic buttplate. There is a single bale type sling swivel attached to the bayonet lug and lower toe area of the stock.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of its original WWII blued finish overall with edge and high spot wear and finish loss on the magazine tube from cycling the pump. The pump handle and buttstock are both in near excellent condition with a nice matching honey color showing only minor handling marks on the sides from light use. A scarce and high condition WWII Stevens Model 520-30 trench shotgun
