This is a solid arsenal refurbished example of a late WWII Remington Rand M1911A1 pistol that was manufactured circa 1945. It has the late type three, two line, small slide marking of: "REMINGTON-RAND/SYRACUSE N.Y. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame is marked: "FJA" for LTC. Frank J. Atwood the U.S. Army inspector along with a "P" proof below the magazine release button with a corresponding "P" proof on top of the slides. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over "NO 2421741" with "M 1911A1" in front of the take down pin hole and a faint cross-cannon ordnance proof behind the right grip. The pistol is fitted with a serrated slide stop and mainspring housing, a checkered thumb safety and magazine release and a late production narrow hammer with checkered spur and a stamped trigger. The slide has standard fixed sights. It has a WWII High Standard barrel marked "HS" and "P" on the sides of the barrel lug. It is fitted with a set of brown checkered plastic Keyes Fibre grips marked on the back side with the "K" inside a star with a "6" and "8" mold numbers on the inside. It is complete with one blued magazine that has the small letter "L" on the lip.

Fine as arsenal reparkerized with 98% of the dark gray finish still remaining overall with some minor pitting under the parkerized finish on the front and rear edges of the slide and side of the rear sight. The barrel has 10% of a blue finish remaining overall. The grips are in very fine condition also with nice visible checkering on both sides showing wear across the tops of the checkering.
