Description:

Savage Model 720 Semi-Automatic Shotgun with military markings. The left side of the receiver is marked "P/ ordnance bomb/ U.S." in two lines. The 26 inch round barrel is stamped with a "P" and a small ordnance "bomb" stamped between the model designation and the edge of the receiver. The barrel has a 2 3/4 inch chamber and is choked improved cylinder. The oil finished walnut forearm and stock are not checkered. The buttplate is black plastic. The War Department purchased over 14,500 Savage Model 720 shotguns in 1943 and 1944.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished with the balance of gun retaining 98% of the original blue, showing light handling marks and a small area of pitting that has been cleaned and blued over on the left side of the receiver near the forearm junction. The wood is excellent with some small handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
