Description:

Manufactured in 1942. U.S. inspected Commando revolvers were issued to state militia forces, security teams at war-essential industrial centers, and similar "home front" applications. Fixed sights, the standard two-block address, patent, model and caliber markings on the barrel, the "VP" Colt proof and an inverted "A" on the left side of the trigger guard, and "G.H.D." and a flaming ordnance bomb above the cylinder release. The butt is stamped "MASS.". Fitted with a pair of plastic checkered Rampant Colt grips. Includes a Colt factory letter that confirms the revolvers configuration and that it was part of a shipment of 150 sent to the State Guard Supply Depot in Boston, Massachusetts on February 25, 1944. Complete with a brown storage box hand numbered to the gun, cleaning brush and Colt pamphlet.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of the original parkerized finish showing some light handling and cylinder rotation marks and edge wear. The grips are excellent with a few small dings and crisp checkering. The plain storage box is fine. Mechanically excellent.
