Description:

This is an excellent example of a WWII production U.S. Army contract Stevens Model 620 trench shotgun. This is another example of one of the highly desirable and highly sought US WWII Military trench shotguns. This was an improved version of the original 520 Trench shotguns that used a redesigned receiver (520 trench guns are more prevalent). This model was used by both the US Army and Marines during WWII, again in Korea and even in Vietnam. The right side of the barrel has the three-line factory address/markings with a single "P" firing proof over a small Ordnance Shell and Flame acceptance proof at the breech. The left of the barrel side is marked: "PROOF TESTED-12 GAUGE/-2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER-". The barrel correctly gauges as a "cylinder" bore at the muzzle. The barrel has the correct WWII Stevens six-hole heat shield/bayonet lug that is stamped with a capital "S" on the left side of the bayonet lug. The bayonet lug has the correct purplish tint to the metal due to its alloy construction. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the "P" firing proof over the Ordnance Corp Shell and Flame proof followed by "MOD. 620" with the "U.S." farther back on the receiver. It is fitted with a walnut pump handle and buttstock with a black plastic buttplate. There is a single bale type sling swivel attached to the bayonet lug and another one correctly mounted on the lower toe area of the stock.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear overall with some very minor blue thinning on the front underside of the action with minor blue loss on the magazine tube, pump handle slide from cycling the action and a minor spot of finish loss on the left side of the bayonet lug. The wood components are both in very good condition with a nice medium brown matching color overall with minor handling marks on the sides of the pump handle and lower toe area by the sling swivel and a few dents and dings.
