The wonderfully engraved and gold inlaid revolver was painstakingly embellished by late Master Engraver Ben Shostle of Indiana. This particular piece features deep semi-relief engraved flowing floral scroll patterns starting at the muzzle and continuing to the top of the back strap. With inlaid gold wire bands around the muzzle and gold wire inlays around the factory barrel markings. The cylinder in engraved in the same deep style as the frame and barrel with three gold bands bordering the bolt stops. The left side of the frame and right side plate features a wonderfully detailed gold inlaid eagles head. The engravers signature "SHOSTLE" is found on the right side plate below the eagle. Fitted with checkered walnut grips with inset nickel S&W medallions. Includes a hardwood case with a red velvet interior, pearl handled London pattern turnscrew, pearl handled cleaning rod and six cylinder sleeves for .22 LR ammunition.

Very fine as master embellished and finished with 95% plus of the blue. The engravings are highly detailed with sharp edges, there is some light oxidation on the barrel rib, sights and cylinder, the gold inlays are complete and brilliant. The grips are very good with a vertical crack in the right panel, small indentations, general handling marks and some lightly bruised checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent with attractive color and grain.
