Description:

The 1886 is considered one of the finest and strongest lever actions ever made by Winchester. This example was manufactured in 1887 with German silver blade front and adjustable sporting rear sights and standard Winchester markings. It has a smooth forend with steel endcap and straight grip buttstock with steel crescent buttplate

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel, magazine tube, and bolt retain 60% of the slightly faded original blue finish with the balance a brown patina. The casehardened components have traces of original case colors with "shadows" of the original pattern and primarily a silver gray and brown patina overall. There are patches of oxidation throughout. The full dimension wood is very good with small dings, slight chips, and various scratches. The action functions fine, and the markings are clear. Looks like it just came out of a closet as there are specks of white house paint present on the left side of butt. A solid representative example of a Winchester 1886 Rifle!
