As stated in the included factory letter, this is one of only two revolvers in the Sampler Edition manufactured in this particular model configuration. The letter further goes on to confirm the serial number, barrel length, caliber, finish and date of shipment. Manufactured in 1987, this revolver features the four major styles of Colt engraving. With smooth grips marked with "R. Henshaw 1831/L. Nimschke 1850-1900/C. Helfricht 1871-1921/Contemporary" on the left and fitted with silver Rampant Colt "Colt/150" medallions. The revolver displays American scroll and punch dot engraving of slightly different styles used throughout Colt's long history. Nimschke stars and delicate scroll on the sides of the frame and cylinder respectively, light feathery on the trigger guard and back of the frame, the bold sweeping scroll and punch dot texturing of Helfricht on the larger areas of the frame and contemporary scroll on the barrel. With "Colt Engraving Sampler" along the rear of the back strap. Aside from those noted above, it has the standard Colt markings and features. Includes a red Colt Custom Shop box numbered to the gun with papers. A truly unique and beautiful addition to any Colt collection.

Near new with only light handling marks and a small trace of a drag line on the cylinder. The grips are excellent with some very light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with some light storage marks and edge wear.
