Ramp bead blade front sight and three-leaf folding rear sight, with "KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL" on the left side of the rib, along with "crown/B" and "crown/U" proofs, zig-zag and dot engraving at the rear of the shotgun barrels. A Carl Zeiss Zielvier scope with high quality custom manufactured quick detach claw mounts numbered to gun and engraved screws matching those seen elsewhere on the gun. The Krupp markings are repeated on the underside of the shotgun barrels, with assorted German proofs on the barrels and receiver with a proof date of Feb. 1939 (239). Relief engraved scalloped aluminum box-lock frame, with a scene of a red stag on the left side, two roe buck deer on the right, equipped with four cocking indicators, a "S/K" selector switch on the tang, Greener safety on the left side and a pair of adjustable triggers. Extra fancy checkered highly figured walnut stock, with a black horn insert into the tip of the splinter forearm, ribbed horn grip cap, raised shadow-line cheekpiece, sling swivels and a checkered horn buttplate. Both shotgun barrel chokes gauge extra full with 2 9/16 inch chambers, 14 1/4 inch length of pull, 1 1/4 inch drop at comb, 2 1/2 at heel, with approximately a 1/2 inch cast off at heel.

Rating Definition:

Very good as professionally restored, with 99% blue finish, showing some minor handling marks. The aluminum frame shows a fine bright alloy appearance overall, with a darker tone in the low areas. The stock is near mint, with highly attractive grain, a few scattered handling marks, and sharp checkering. Some light scratches are visible on the scope body, with clear optics. Mechanically excellent. One of the finest Vierlings we have ever offered at auction with the very desirable "16ga./8mm/5.4mm (rare 22 LR)" caliber combination barrel and solid rib.
