SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" is marked vertically at the breech. 16 gauge shotgun barrels feature 2 1/2" chambers, choked full/improved modified with extractor. The light scroll engraved casehardened receiver is marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" at the hammers. Adjustable set rifle trigger, with tang safety. Various proofs on the barrels and receiver, with the barrels marked "NITRO" on the chambers. Checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with horn trigger guard with spur, horn grip cap, raised cheekpiece, sling and serrated factory plastic buttplate.

Very fine. The barrels retain approximately 80% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some light spotting. There is some very light pin prick pitting on the rifle barrel. The receiver retains 50% original case colors (most vivid on the upper tang under the break lever), with the balance fading is a silver gray patina. The forearm is fine with some minor pressure marks and scratches and a minor gouge, with some wear in the otherwise crisp checkering. There is a chip absent near the receiver at the hammer, otherwise the buttstock is fine with some minor pressure marks and scratches, with some scattered minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. The engraving is clear and crisp.
