Manufactured in 1979. As stated in the included factory letter, this particular revolver was used in the photography for the 1980 Colt catalog, after which it was shipped out to the Clearfield Hardware Company Inc. of Clearfield, PA, on November 13 of 1979. The letter confirms the finish, serial number and caliber. With a red highlighted, pinned ramp front and fully adjustable rear notch sights. Fitted with a wide, borderless checkered hammer and serrated trigger and a fully shrouded ejector rod with knurled end. The grips are checkered walnut with inset gold Colt medallions. Includes a Colt "wood grain" box numbered to the gun with papers.

Very good with 85% plus original nickel finish remaining, showing small surface scratches, general handling marks, some light frosting near the muzzle, drag lines on the cylinder and some pin point pitting on the back of the trigger guard. The grips are very good with sharp checkering, high point wear on the medallions and scattered small dings. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with some separated corners, tape repairs and general handling and storage wear.
