Manufactured in 1905. Pinned blade bead front sight, folding ladder rear sight and saddle stud with ring on the left side of the receiver. The top of the barrel has the two-line address/patent date ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" at the breech. The Winchester proofs are stamped on the barrel and receiver near the breech. The upper tang is stamped with the three-line model/trade mark information. Serial number is stamped on the underside of the frame. Mounted on a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with carbine buttplate. Includes Winchester factory letter that confirms the serial number and caliber, and that it was shipped on September 28, 1906.
Fine with 60% plus of the original blue finish with scattered scratches and dings, wear on the left side of the barrel behind the barrel band, and wear from the saddle ring. The markings are clear. The wood is also fine with scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
