This beautiful deluxe factory engraved Savage Model 1899 was manufactured in 1907-08 and has tight scrollwork, floral, and game scene engraving on the receiver. The serial number is on the bottom ahead of the lever. The fancy grade deluxe walnut pistol grip stock and Schnabel tip forearm have crisp checkering with decorative carving at the ends and a smooth steel buttplate. The barrel is fitted with a beaded blade front sight and an adjustable sporting rear sight. The barrel is marked "SAVAGE HI-PRESSURE STEEL/-<MODEL 1899>-" to the left of the rear sight and "SAV 303" on top at the breech.

Exceptionally fine. 97% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish remains, and the lever retains most of the vibrant original case colors. The professionally refinished wood is very fine and has crisp checkering, attractive figure, and only minor handling and storage marks. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp.
