Manufactured from 1893 to 1935 with this example having the later production "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL" barrel marking. The barrel is fitted with large German silver blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights, and has the two line address/patent dates marking stamped ahead of the rear sight and "30-30" at the breech. Stamped "MODEL 1893" on the upper tang and "MARLIN SAFETY" on the top of the action. "72" is stamped on the bottom of the forearm (meaning unknown). Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. The round barrel is scarcer than the other available variations.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel, magazine tube and forearm tip retain 97% original blue finish, and the buttplate retains 80% plus thinned original blue finish. The remaining metal surfaces retain 90% brilliant casehardened colors, otherwise faded to a gray on the bottom of lever. The excellent wood shows some minor pressure dents and scratches with nearly all of its original varnish remaining. Mechanically excellent.
