Manufactured in 1888, this rifle has the Third Model integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated edges. The rifle is equipped with a special order set trigger. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent date information and "32 WCF". The bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL" in script letters. The upper receiver tang has a folding peep sight, and the serial number is stamped in script on the lower tang. It features a beaded blade front sight, folding ladder rear sight and full length magazine tube. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Fine. The rifle retains 30% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. Traces of original case colors remain on the loading gate, hammer and lever. The wood is also fine with a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
